At Barentz Animal Nutrition, we offer a wide range of basic feed ingredients, specialties, and service products so that we can act as a one-stop-shop of animal nutrition ingredients for our customers. Above all, we are particularly well-known for our strong portfolio in, and knowledge of, proteins, amino-acids and starches.

King of proteins
Ever since the early days of Barentz, we have been focused on proteins. We developed an extensive network to supply proteins that fit a huge range of different formulations. Depending upon the required amino acid profile, specifications around mesh size, iron content or digestibility, we can supply the right protein.
Our foundation is very much plant-based, and we can supply different forms of plant protein from soya, wheat, maize, potato, rice, or even duck weed (lentils). However, we also can supply very specific, and highly digestible, proteins from animal origin. Commodity proteins, such as brewer’s yeast, are also available.
Sourced locally (with EU-origin) or abroad, hydrolyzed, soluble, fine- or course grade: Our specialists are always eager to help find the right protein for the desired application.

Amino acids & vitamins
Barentz Animal Nutrition also has a very good position in China to source essential commodities, like amino acids and vitamins. As a group, we are the largest importer of Chinese origin amino acids into the EU.
We have a unique position and direct, established relationship with the Chinese producers. Due to our constant import of amino acids and vitamins, we can offer a great deal of flexibility to our customers to help secure their supply and reduce supply chain risks from these commodities from China.
Apart from these essential and very commoditized ingredients, we also have access to more specialized amino acids. Our strength is in our network. We can source almost any product from China for our customers.

From our network of reliable suppliers and principals that we represent, we can offer various types of starches. Together with our customers we find the right solution in terms of functionality, nutritional profile and, of course, pricing.
Our principals provide very strong support in order to create the best formulation and our customer loyalty guarantees the highest service and added value to both ends of the value chain.

Pre-biotics and focus on animal wellbeing
We also offer a range of prebiotics or products with a prebiotic synergetic effect. These range from phytogenics, such as plant extracts and seaweed, to hydrolyzed yeast solutions and sapponin concentrate blends.
We believe that healthy animals perform better and by stimulating their own immune system, productivity and yield can be increased. Our solutions also fit very well in reducing the need for antibiotic growth promotors and zinc in the animals’ diets.
Of course, there is no ‘silver bullet’, and together with our customers and suppliers, we find solutions that will bring the greatest synergy with other ingredients in the formulation.
