About this role

Job Purpose

As a Data Engineer, you work on the back end of the DNA platform and on developing various reporting chains. This is a new future state environment with many large data sets, complex logic, and full dynamics due to new techniques and upcoming changing legislation and regulations (ESG).

You are the Data Engineer who achieves great results together with your team with excellent analytical and technical skills! You ensure the implementation of data solutions in a consistent, qualitative, and maintainable manner following the frameworks and guidelines. Your specialty is the transformation and integration of complex and large data structures. You are not only thinking about the current assignment but also good solutions for a future sustainable, flexible, and robust data platform for Barentz.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

  • Design, implement, and standardize end-to-end global data solutions to facilitate advanced customer journey orchestration data solutions within the Data and Analytics Core Platform.
  • Ingest, transform, and validate data from multiple sources.
  • Facilitate and challenge businesses to provide the necessary data/solutions to support and optimize customer journeys, regulations & financial insights.
  • Proactively collaborate with business stakeholders in the areas of CRM, FO, Finance, Marketing, and other data domains.
  • Make sure that data pipelines and data products are high-performing, automated, and monitored, following the CI/CD practice and the DevOps approach.
  • Team up with the scrum team(s) on solutions and developments.
  • Provide support by writing documentation and tutorials as well as providing guidance to users with a variety of technical skills.

About You

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:

Must have technical/professional qualifications:

  • A bachelor's or master’s in computer science, Computer Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of (and ideally certification in) Azure or cloud-based applications and pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of data engineering languages (Python, PySpark, SQL, PowerShell, Bash, Bicep/Terraform).
  • Solid experience with data engineering technologies (Fabric, MS SQL, SQL Pool, Synapse analytics, Data Factory, Azure data lake, Azure functions, Azure event grid, DBT).

Key performance indicators:

  • Definition, prioritization, and planning of DnA capabilities.
  • Tangible value creation using the data through the Barentz organisation.
  • Successful implementation of these capabilities
  • Full alignment with (senior) management across business and IT
