About this role

Purpose

The Compensation & Benefits Program Manager’s goal is to further implement Barentz’s Compensation & Benefits strategy, and provide modern solutions and advice tailored to local needs. You will be the first point of contact for Compensation & Benefits related matters for the Global, Regional and Local HR teams and you report to Frans Kools, Global Head of HR at Barentz. Under limited direction, your aim is to design and implement compensation plans and roll out programs that attract and retain talent, drive business results, and reward employees consistently with the organization's overall reward strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the compensation strategy is effectively implemented, within established budgets and complies with relevant regulations, laws, and employment standards. Develop, implement, and administer compliant and market-competitive compensation programs consistent with the organization's overall reward strategy.
  • Build trustful relations with leaders and other stakeholders within the business. Act as the internal subject matter expert to HR business partners, Talent Acquisition, business leaders, and other internal stakeholders on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation, and job evaluation.
  • Lead or support key projects such as market pricing review/update, compensation planning cycle, etc. Partner with other team members to ensure technology, guidelines and processes are consistently applied. Support and manage various compensation-related projects as assigned.
  • Partner with other HR team members and stakeholders to lead training and other communication efforts to socialize compensation philosophy, policy and best practices within the company.
  • Benchmark salaries and rewards against local requirements and propose improvement opportunities.
  • Design and support implementation of (Mercer) job grading and structuring in job families, based on rewards strategy.
  • Be involved in cross border movements for employees and new joiners.
  • Support the recruitment process, including profile analysis, grade evaluation, employment offer where needed.
  • Responsible and being the main contact regarding pension schemes.
  • Provide insights, analysis and communication in yearly salary and benefit surveys.
  • Keep up to date on compensation laws and regulations and informed of industry trends and best practices.

About you

Job Requirements

  • University degree or relevant job experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience as a compensation & benefits specialist in an international setting.
  • Successful track record in setting up a job evaluation and job grading structure and educating organizations at various levels of seniority in compensation & benefits topics.
  • Experience delivering both compliance-based and consultative compensation solutions to internal clients.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the laws and regulations that affect human resources and compensation.
  • Results-driven personality, strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to research and analyze data drawn from multiple sources to find problems and make effective decisions.
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Strong customer service orientation: ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate the technical nature of compensation for clear stakeholder understanding.
  • Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel and Power BI
  • English proficiency, other languages are considered an advantage.
