At Barentz, we’re helping customers navigate one of the biggest formulation challenges today: creating reduced-sugar products that still deliver on taste, texture, and experience.
To demonstrate its formulation expertise, Barentz North America developed a keto-friendly hazelnut and cocoa spread concept showcased at the IFT First trade show in Chicago. The concept was designed as a luxurious, health-forward spread with a silky smooth, melt-in-mouth texture and stable structure without separation.
Using ingredients from its wide portfolio, Barentz combined pea protein, fibre blends and specialised flavour solutions to balance nutritional value (high fiber, low sugar), functionality and taste. Texture and stability were achieved through carefully selected functional ingredients, while flavour modulators helped deliver a rich hazelnut and cocoa profile without undesirable off-notes.
The concept attracted strong interest and positive feedback from visitors at the trade show and will be used in customer discussions to demonstrate Barentz’s ability to translate nutrition trends into indulgent product experiences. The prototype highlights how Barentz supports customers in developing innovative formulations that combine improved nutritional profiles with appealing taste and texture.
