Barentz brings human-grade Pet Food to life at Interzoo 2026. Dare to taste the future?
Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, May 5, 2026 - As pet owners increasingly apply their own dietary values to their animals, Barentz, a global distributor of specialty ingredient solutions, will showcase a fully formulated, edible Pet Food concept at Interzoo 2026 (Hall 7, Stand 7-632). The concept translates the humanization trend into a tangible, “sensory” experience.
The demonstration product — a juicy, fibrous, whole-meat-like product — is designed to illustrate what 'human-grade' structure, texture, and visual appeal genuinely mean in practice. It features visible ingredients, authentic mouthfeel, and a product presentation that mirrors what consumers expect on their own plates.
Behind the concept is Catharina Nieuwenhuizen, Technical Director Pet Food at Barentz, who will be on-hand throughout the show to discuss the ingredient solutions — from meat-based to plant-based alternatives — that make this level of texture achievable at industrial scale.
