Barentz acquires full ownership of SK Chemtrade and rebrands as Barentz South Africa

Hoofddorp, Netherlands, June 1, 2026 – Barentz, a leading global specialty ingredients solution provider, is pleased to announce that, effective 1 June, SK Chemtrade Services (Pty) Ltd will officially transition to Barentz South Africa, marking the next phase in its growth and development.

This change follows a successful, long-standing partnership between SK Chemtrade and Barentz. Since forming a joint venture in 2019, the collaboration has delivered strong growth and expanded capabilities across the business.

Barentz has now acquired full ownership of SK Chemtrade, reinforcing its commitment to the South African market and the broader African region.

Despite the name change, clients and partners can expect uninterrupted operations. The existing management team, led by Managing Director Mark Ferrao, will continue to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring the same high level of service, expertise, and customer focus.
