About this role
The role in a nutshell
This is not a “keep-the-books-straight” role. This is a “help-drive-the-business-forward” role. Our Finance function is evolving — from reporting on the past to actively shaping the future. As Finance Director, you will be a true business partner to the leadership team, helping to take the UK, Ireland, Poland and Nordics regions to the next level together with the business. We are looking for someone who is curious, open-minded, and energetic. Someone who challenges the status quo with flair and enthusiasm, connects the dots across functions, and helps the organization make smarter, bolder choices.
You are part of the regional Management Team, not representing “your pillar”, but the whole system. You look beyond Finance, work shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain, and help the business focus on what really matters. You spend roughly 25% looking back — learning from the numbers — and 75% looking forward, driving action, improvement and growth.
What you’ll be doing
Act as a strategic financial business partner to senior leadership across the UK, Ireland, Poland and Nordics regions.
Help shape and execute the short- and mid-term financial strategy, aligned with business ambitions.
Challenge the organization with the right questions: Why do we do it this way? Can it be smarter? Simpler? More impactful?
Drive insight, not just reporting.
Support better decision-making across the full value chain: inventory, pricing, customer focus, supply chain efficiency and cash.
Dare to “press the red button” when needed — constructively, calmly and with credibility — even if the discussion is unpopular.
Lead and coach local Finance Managers, helping them grow as business partners themselves.
Build strong relationships in a matrix organization, collaborating across regions and functions.
Core financial responsibilities
Overall direction for financial processes within the EMEA Sub-Region.
Budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and key metrics (cash flow, working capital, CCC, DSO, DPO, DIO).
Ensuring accurate, timely reporting and compliance with Group principles and regulations.
Making sure risk assessment and controls are in place — without letting them slow the business down.
Who we’re looking for
Why this role?
Someone ready to make their second or third management step — ready to broaden your impact and visibility – reporting into the CFO EMEA.
A natural business partner with strong financial acumen and commercial instinct.
Someone friendly and calm, who can bring people along — and still stand their ground when needed.
Comfortable operating across countries and cultures; able to speak the language of the business.
Experience in a complex, international or matrix environment.
Curious by nature, action-oriented by default: you see issues, tackle them and help solve them.
Because here, Finance doesn’t sit on the sidelines. You will help simplify, focus, and elevate the business — and be a real driver of change. If you’re excited by impact, collaboration and shaping what comes next — we’d love to meet you.
Why Barentz?
Barentz is a fast-growing organization with an open culture and short lines of communication. We offer you freedom and opportunity to operate independently within the set objectives and frameworks. Barentz is looking for employees who are creative, independent, and energetic, and who like to take on challenges. You like to work in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, which requires a high degree of flexibility.
You will be rewarded with a competitive salary package, in line with your experience and skills.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
An inspiring multinational company in a fast-growing and innovative business
Hybrid working environment.
Other benefits such as a private pension scheme and membership to our health cash plan with BUPA.
