Job Purpose
The Logistics Manager manages local warehousing and transportation operations by developing and implementing logistics strategies to ensure an optimal service level for business stakeholders while maintaining cost efficiency. The role also acts as the Customs Lead for the French entity.
Critical results
• Drive high service performance and cost efficiency by optimizing inventory flows, warehousing, and distribution activities while achieving budgetary targets and established KPIs.
• Plan logistics flows, monitor budgets, and oversee shipment execution in line with financial goals and agreed service levels.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Manage a Claims and Disputes Assistant.
• Manage relationships with logistics service providers, including contract negotiations, rate agreements, and performance reviews.
• Develop and implement a long-term logistics strategy.
• Coordinate the transportation of goods, including supplier-to-customer deliveries, warehouse-to-customer shipments, and return flows.
• Maintain strong relationships with logistics and business partners to ensure effective coordination and seamless communication.
• Monitor and manage the performance of logistics service providers, including carriers and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
• Review and approve transportation and warehousing invoices.
• Develop and maintain logistics cost and performance dashboards.
• Source and contract ad hoc carriers for routes not covered by regular transportation agreements.
• Maintain and update transportation-related master data.
• Achieve established KPIs.
• Monitor and analyze transportation and warehousing budgets, proactively identifying cost-saving opportunities.
• Review and amend customer specifications in collaboration with the Sales and Quality departments.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and act as the Customs Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the company.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards and Quality Assurance (QA) procedures.
• Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of Intrastat declarations (Declarations of Exchange of Goods) to the relevant authorities.
• Identify and implement optimization opportunities across logistics operations and costs.
About You
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience and/or related management experience.
• Strong knowledge of logistics coordination, transportation, and customs.
