Barentz reinforces its presence in the DACH region through the acquisition of NCD Ingredient

Barentz, a leading global specialty ingredients solutions provider, announces the acquisition of 100% of the shares of NCD Ingredients GmbH (NCD Ingredients), a renowned distributor of specialty personal care and home care ingredients active in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). This strategic acquisition significantly enhances Barentz’s presence in the DACH region, with a particular focus on Germany—the second-largest personal care market in EMEA.


NCD Ingredients has an established reputation in the personal care and home care sector in the DACH region, backed by longstanding relationships with customers and a diversified portfolio of blue-chip principals. By joining forces with NCD Ingredients, Barentz strengthens its commercial sales organisation and deepens its reach and market penetration in this key region. The complementary product portfolios and shared commitment to innovation position Barentz to better serve customers with a broader range of high-quality raw and active ingredients. 


Founded in 2013 by Thorsten Fenchel and headquartered in Hanau, Germany, NCD Ingredients employs a skilled team of experienced sales and technical experts. Thorsten will continue with Barentz as Managing Director, ensuring seamless integration of the Barentz Personal Care division in the DACH region and delivery of high-quality service to both existing and new customers and principals.
