AB Enzymes and Barentz have signed an agreement that makes Barentz the preferred distributor in Europe for AB Enzymes’ Baking and Food & Specialties divisions. The agreement entails a continuation of current representation in most European countries, as well as an expansion into new territories. The business processes of AB Enzymes and Barentz have been integrated to ensure a continuation of high service levels to the selected customers that will be handled by Barentz. One example of this tight integration is the use of a shared central warehouse, located in Frankfurt, Germany. The central warehouse will allow both companies to guarantee reliability of supply, while reducing complexity as well as cost of handling and storage. Effective February 1st, Novolyte Technologies has entered into a new Master Distribution agreement for all of Europe with Barentz Europe, a Netherlands based distributor of specialty chemicals. The Master Distribution agreement is designed to replace the existing temporary distribution agreement with Ferro, which was provided as part of the sale of the Fine Chemicals business to Novolyte Technologies. Barentz will maintain dedicated customer service personnel and provide logistics support for Novolyte Technologies products in their Brussels, Belgium based offices. In addition, Barentz will be maintaining stock for Novolyte’s full line of products in their warehouse facility near Rotterdam. Through the Master Distribution agreement, Barentz will support the sales of products to Novolyte’s existing customers and distributors. Barentz and Sisterna have decided to join forces to sell the specialty range of sugar esters to the food industry in Central Europe. The Barentz offices will sell the Sisterna products in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia. Barentz markets a wide portfolio of specialty products to among others the food industries in these countries. Sucrose esters can be used in a wide variety of food applications, such as Dairy and Desserts, Confectionery, Bakery Products, Cooking Sauces, Dressings and Mayonnaise. At the end of 2006 Barentz opened its Moscow Representative Office in Russia. In one and a half year the organisation has strongly grown and in fact doubled in size. Today Barentz services the food, the pharmaceutical, cosmetic and chemical industries in Russia, with dedicated specialists for each of these industries. As always Barentz employs only local people and the Russian team is comprised of University graduated specialists that all have worked for some time in the industry.
