We are looking for a (senior) QC Chemist to join our Vitablend Quality team based in Singapore.

About this role

Purpose:

Join us in ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and hygiene in the determination of microbiological, chemical, and physical properties of raw materials, semi-finished products, and finished goods. Your work will be crucial in guaranteeing that every product we release is safe and meets both internal and external legal guidelines.

Core tasks:

  • Lead and manage Quality Control (QC) and laboratory operations to maintain the highest standards.
  • Oversee sample management, both internally and with external partners.
  • Analyze incoming raw materials and finished product samples, ensuring they meet rigorous quality standards.
  • Review supplier Certificates of Analysis (COA), production batch reports, and both internal and external analysis results.
  • Perform the critical task of product release for raw materials and finished products.
  • Monitor analysis turnaround time (TAT) and propose improvements when targets are exceeded.
  • Manage and investigate Out of Specification (OOS) results to ensure quality compliance.
  • Maintained and troubleshot lab equipment, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance with vendors.
  • Keep our chemical master list and inventory up to date, managing hazardous chemicals safely and effectively.
  • Coordinate the safe disposal of chemical waste with licensed vendors.
  • Plan and conduct calibration schedules, performing internal calibrations where possible and liaising with external vendors for external calibrations.
  • Validate new testing methods and verify transfer methods to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of procedures, work instructions, and records.
  • Provide induction, on-the-job, and refresher training for analysts and production operators.
  • Support internal audits of the laboratory and follow up on non-compliance issues until they’re resolved.
  • Assist in investigations related to internal or external quality issues.
  • Take on any other tasks assigned by your superior, contributing to the continuous improvement of our processes.

About You

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • You bring at least 3 years of hands-on experience in quality control, with a strong background in HPLC, FTIR, and microbiology.
  • You have strong leadership and teamwork abilities and are well-versed in GLP, GMP, FSCC22000, ISO 17025, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in Nutritional Premix and/or Infant Nutrition is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in setting up a lab is also a plus.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Living in Singapore.
