About this role
The Marketing Communication Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing marketing communication strategies to optimize marketing communication effectiveness on a company global level, but also on the assigned market segment level in order to enhance our customer and principal on-line and off-line experience. Marketing Communication Specialist will be a member of a global marketing communication team. This role will collaborate with others throughout the organization, and it will report to the Head of Global Marketing Communication. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of working experience in a B-to-B environment and a skillset of mid to senior marketing communications project manager.


Your job

  • Work in close collaboration with the Head of Global Marketing Communication in order to coordinate corporate branding over Barentz’s multiple divisions.
  • Manage various projects related to global marketing communication and branding initiatives.
  • Be a brand ambassador: create and maintain a strong global brand image through captivating and consistent messaging.
  • Develop a yearly marketing communication plan per market segment and set a standard for yearly planning, in a corporation with divisional marcom managers and VPs and/or senior technical marketers.
  • Maintain a calendar of marketing communication activities per division including tradeshows, webinars, technical seminars, etc., and ensure associated deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for the creation and execution of marketing campaigns, videos, presentations, webinars, blogs, podcasts, formulations, online catalogs, print/digital ads, graphics, charts, and social media campaigns.
  • Collaborate with sales on marketing tools, projects, and product information presentations.
  • Lead major tradeshows projects, with a focus on messaging and overall coordination in corporation with a dedicated tradeshow manager.
  • Proofread marketing collateral (ads, product guides, articles, press releases, etc.)
  • Assist with the internal and/or external digital newsletter(s), as needed.
  • Apply basic graphic design skills in InDesign, as needed.
  • Website content management.
  • Work independently and in a team environment on various ongoing projects.
  • Support and lead by example, Barentz’s culture, values, and fundamentals.
  • Participate in ongoing personal development opportunities.


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in marketing communications.
  • Excellent command of English (native or near-native), written and spoken is required.
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), CMS for webpage content (some HTML required), social media apps, Constant Contact, InDesign, Canva, and Hootsuite.
  • Strategic thinker and decision-maker.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt communication style to the audience as needed.
  • The ability to work in an international (partially virtual) team environment, prioritize work assignments and act independently.
  • Ability to be proactive on marketing ideas that create value for the organization and assigned division.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and an engaging level of enthusiasm and positive outlook.
  • Software knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Act legally and ethically in all professional relationships in adherence to Barentz’s values and fundamentals.
  • Live near Hoofddorp.
