About this role

Job Purpose

To provide a customer-focused, consistent, efficient, and accessible HR service to associates and line managers from all Divisions and Functions, encompassing the full range of HR activities, including advice, guidance, and support about day-to-day employee relations issues. Act as a trusted advisor for the management and their teams.

Personal

  • Represent HR in the Country Management Team and local Divisions and Functions
  • Take full accountability for the professional representation of Barentz to both external stakeholders and internal associates by delivering exceptional customer service and business-ready advice.
  • Lead by personal example by demonstrating behaviors that support our Barentz Values.
  • Define and build the Divisions and Functions HR agenda in conjunction with the Country Manager and the Group HR Director | EMEA HRBP and aligned to the EU business strategy.
  • Work closely with the Group HR Director and EMEA HRBP to (co)design and implement all aspects of HR activity, ensuring that policies, procedures, and projects are aligned with business objectives, such as Performance Appraisal, Global Engagement Survey, Talent Development, and Management, Onboarding, Merit.

Advisory

  • Support, coach, and advise line management with all areas of associate development, retention, termination, etc.
  • Develop the knowledge and skills of line management to assist them in getting the best from their associates.
  • Proactively manage associates who are long-term sick, in conflict, poor or high performers, etc
  • Identify hiring needs and liaise with Corporate Talent Acquisition to start up the recruitment process.

Talent Management & Development

  • Drive a high-performance culture through succession planning and the Talent Agenda for the Country, the Divisions, and Functions ensuring that there are the right people with the right capabilities.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance and support to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Act as the performance improvement driver and provoke positive changes in the people management.
  • Follow up on the Performance Appraisal Cycle with development plans (IDP/PIP), Talent Review, succession planning, VCS, ABP, and Merit
  • Develop training around Performance Appraisal processes for Managers & Associates on Objective settings, conducting appraisals, exit strategy (legal), and development of poor and high performers.
  • Develop actions based on the Barentz Engagement Survey together with the business leaders and execute the initiatives locally for the divisions/functions.

L&D

  • Identify local L&D needs and align with internal content and external partners on materials to use and translate.
  • Develop materials with low cost and high effectiveness (MS Teams, virtual, live with a big audience, etc)
  • Provide additional training on specific regional and local needs.

Onboarding

  • Implementation of the Local onboarding content: develop and merge with local content.

Organizational Design (in conjunction with Group HR Director)

  • Work closely and flexibly with the Country Manager, the Regional Division, and Functional Team members on Workforce Planning (inclusive of downsizing and reorganization) which supports the business strategy and objectives.

HR Operations

  • Develop and maintain local HR-related documentation e.g., policies, procedures, handbooks, labor agreements, and supporting documentation and that they reflect the current needs of the business, are aligned to current business strategy, and are available as required via appropriate media (e.g., intranet).
  • Draft internal regional communications as required.
  • Ensure that all operational local HR queries are acknowledged within the agreed timescales and that all queries are resolved professionally.
  • Keep up to date on all legislative changes and assist in developing commercially viable policies and procedures to support those changes and the needs of the business.
  • Ensure accurate processes and reporting on exits, severance, and legal cases.
  • Responsible for the reporting, confirmation, and documentation of C&B initiatives such as job validation, job grading, bonuses, etc

Employee Relations

  • Escalate complex employee relation matters to the Group HR Director when necessary.

Training

  • Execute training, classrooms, and MS Teams based on the learning needs.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining HR solutions to support the HR needs of line management following the analysis of high-call volume areas.

About You

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience as MT-member
  • >5 years of HRBP experience in the Czech Republic in a commercial, international, matrix environment
  • In-depth knowledge of current employment law legislation and HR policies and processes.
  • Ability to build and maintain confidential relationships.
  • Clear communication skills with the capability to communicate on all levels.
  • Extremely customer-focused.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage and resolve difficult situations through strong influencing skills.
  • Proven track record of managing employee relations cases.
  • Team player.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative, prioritize own workload and deliver results.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in organizational development; Organizational Psychology; Labor Law; education/learning, business, or a related field

Technical skills:

  • Native Czech Speaker
  • Excellent Knowledge of Business English (written and spoken)
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong advisory skills
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills for different kinds and levels of audiences
  • Certification in assessment tooling and coaching concepts/methodologies is a plus.
  • Good MS Office skills, with experience in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
