About this role
Job Purpose
Managing the credit function within a country or area, ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures, and providing guidance to customers and sales teams on credit matters.
Critical results
Carry out local processes, policies, and applications for credit & credit risk management in order to maintain a high quality of debt collection and minimize the risk of operational losses, without losing the commercial perspective of “making a profit”.
Tasks and responsibilities
- Manage the local credit management and credit risk management activities, balancing revenue maximization, credit risk minimization, and cash flow optimization.
- Reduce overdue receivables and manage bad debts and write-offs, by effectively reporting, analyzing, and following up on collections.
- Analyze the effectiveness of existing collections strategies and identify new opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee the credit analysis and decision-making process, ensuring that decisions are made following company credit policies and procedures.
- Analyse customer financial statements and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness and make informed credit decisions.
- Manage the credit limit setting and credit review processes, ensuring that credit limits are appropriate and regularly reviewed.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, sales teams, and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the relationship with local Credit Insurance
- Provide training and support to sales teams on credit policies and procedures.
- Monitor and report on credit risks and make recommendations for credit risk mitigation strategies.
- Participate in the development and implementation of new credit policies and procedures.
- Keep abreast of changes in the economic and regulatory environment that impact the credit function.
- Participate in other ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.
About You
Education / Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5 or more years of experience in a relevant field or related management experience
