Management Team

At Barentz we believe in thinking global and acting local. This is why our management team is a powerful mix of ingredients experts and people with local market knowledge and expertise. Our management team consists of our three boardmembers and seven senior managers who operate across our organisation.

Jos van der Linden – Chief Financial Officer (board member)
Jos began his Barentz career in 1997 in the Dutch head office. With his exceptional experience in mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and IT projects, he has continuously made the growth of the business possible. Jos likes to be independent and that is exactly one of his ambitions for Barentz: to remain financially independent and strong.

Hidde van der Wal – Chief Executive Officer (board member)
Hidde joined Barentz in 1988 having initially qualified as a food technologist. He has worked throughout the organisation and is a truly focused and experienced international executive. From 1994 till 2000 he was VP at ADM’s Protein Division, and then re-joined Barentz as CEO. Hidde had lead Barentz through the growth of the business throughout Europe and has initiated the expansion into Asia.

Pavel Kratochvil – Executive Vice President (board member)
Pavel became part of the Barentz team with the expansion of the Barentz business into the Czech Republic in 1992. His background is in engineering and economics and he has been driving the European growth of Barentz, with his depth of experience in chemical and ingredients distribution.

Geert Ingelbert – Vice President Food & Nutrition
With an exceptional track record in the Food Industry, Geert is leading all Food & Nutrition activities for Barentz. A food technologist by training, Geert applies his knowledge to build strong customer teams who can solve any ingredients challenge for customers.

Torsten PieschnickVice President of Pharmaceuticals & Personal Care
With a doctorate in chemistry and profound experience in the ingredients industry, Torsten leads the Pharmaceutical and Personal Care business activities for Barentz. In his 14 + years with Barentz, he has built strong teams to serve customers optimally.

Kees Schepers – Vice President Barentz Overseas
A chemist by training, Kees leads all Asian and North American business development activities for Barentz. He also leads the commercial side of the Vitablend business on a global scale. Kees builds on years of experience in the Food industry with Glanbia Nutritionals and Barentz.

Marc Duchene – Managing Director Barentz Asia Pacific
With an MBA and a Master of Science in Food Technology and Nutrition, Marc has extensive experience in the Food & Nutrition industry. Based in Singapore, Marc leads all business development activities in the region and is also Managing Director of Vitablend Asia Pacific.

Anthony Litchfield – Managing Director Barentz UK, Ireland, India & Sales Director, Pharmaceuticals
Anthony joined Barentz in Dec 2011, when Barentz acquired Forum Products Ltd where he was a Board Member and Shareholder. With a degree in Applied Chemistry, he has spent most of his career in sales, product management and senior management roles in the pharmaceutical industry.

Michael Chenkeli – Managing Director Barentz Russia, Ukraine & CIS countries
With his local market knowledge and solid experience in developing international business, Michael plays a leading role in implementing the growth strategy of Barentz in Russia, Ukraine and the CIS countries. Michael holds a master´s degree in management and has led the Barentz activities in this region since 2007.

Tim Lemeer – Managing Director Animal Nutrition
Tim built his experience working with a leading worldwide distributor of organic commodities and specialties for both food and feed applications as well as for Deloitte for several years, before joining Barentz early 2017 and becoming responsible for the Animal Nutrition division. He holds degrees in Industrial Engineering & Management as well as in Finance.

Maarten de Boer – Vice President Finance 
Maarten joined Barentz in 2007 as Finance Director of Vitablend. He holds degrees in Finance and Business Administration and has broad experience in all aspects of Financial Management and Merger & Acquisitions. Currently he leads the financial side of the Food business.

Tovani Benzaquen Ingredients, a major food-ingredient distributor in South America and part of Barentz, is delighted to announce the acquisition of Chemspecs, a high-performance distributor of personal care products in Brazil. Chemspecs is the largest specialized distributor of personal-care ingredients serving the Brazilian cosmetics market. Its product offerings and customer base are complementary to those of Tovani. The transaction will further strengthen the growth of Barentz within the life sciences industries in the South American market.

The company proudly announces its joint venture with TasteStrik©, a successful Dutch family business and a leading developer, producer and supplier of high-quality flavourings and ingredients for the bakery, cereal, chocolate, confectionery, culinary, dairy and specialty foods industry. This joint venture will give Barentz a higher diversity of sources to deliver solutions for taste concepts, while offering TasteStrik© the knowledge and expertise of Barentz’ global network.
