Barentz moves into the Baltic States
Barentz Europe BV announces the opening of its 18th European entity in Riga, Latvia, serving the Baltic states Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. Barentz appoints VP Animal Nutrition Division
Barentz Europe BV announces the appointment of Peter Sengers to Vice president of its Animal Nutrition Division. Mr.Sengers, a Dutch citizen, has been active all of his professional career in the animal nutrition business in Europe and has been responsible in the past 5 years for the rapid expansion of the Barentz Feed Business in the Netherlands. Mr. Sengers succeeds John Hus, who will now fully focus on Barentz fast growing sourcing activities. With this appointment Barentz stresses the importance of its animal nutrition activities and its determination to expand the business on a pan-European scale.
Barentz appoints VP Chemical Division
Barentz Europe BV announces the appointment of Frédéric Marquet to Vice president of its Chemical Division. Mr. Marquet, a Belgian citizen, has been active all of his professional career in the chemical industry in Europe and brings a wealth of experience. The in-depth knowledge of Mr. Marquet in the coating, rubber, plastic and chemical industry as well as his experience in the distribution business makes him the ideal candidate to lead the expansion of Barentz Chemical Division in Europe. His main task will be to strengthen Barentz presence as a leading pan-European specialty distributor to the chemical industry.
Barentz and Sisterna Cooperate in Central Europe
Barentz and Sisterna have decided to join forces to sell the specialty range of sugar esters to the food industry in Central Europe. The Barentz offices will sell the Sisterna products in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Barentz doubles sales force in Russia
At the end of 2006 Barentz opened its Moscow Representative Office in Russia. In one and a half year the organisation has strongly grown and in fact doubled in size.
Barentz to acquire majority of shares of Vitablend Holding

Barentz Europe BV and Ernst Sander AG have decided join forces for the distribution of specialty ingredients and additives for the food, feed and pharmaceutical industry. The partners have agreed to form a new joint venture company: Barentz-Sander AG. Barentz-Sander AG will be located in Zug and service the Swiss food, feed and pharma customers of Sander AG and Barentz GmbH.

Barentz Europe BV, one of Europe’s leading specialty raw materials companies, today announced the acquisition of MDB Twello BV, a privately held ingredient company in Twello, the Netherlands, that specialises in soy and lupin products. MDB Twello BV operates under the name Fa. L.I. Frank – Fa. Wed. W. Miedendorp.

Barentz sourcing moves into India
Already in 2005 Barentz started its sourcing office in China in Changzhou City near Shanghai. Screening suppliers, auditing factories and organizing the commercial and logistic operations are the key activities of our China team.
