Sustainability & Reponsibility Policy

Our people are our most valuable asset and will always make the difference. We look out for their safety and we encourage them to develop their talents. We treat each other fairly and with respect. We also expect and encourage our suppliers to treat their people fairly and in accordance to the human rights policies. The UN Global Compact resolutions has been the inspiration for our Sustainability and Responsibility guidelines.

Business Ethics
We are  committed to conducting our business in an ethical manner and in full compliance with all applicable laws. Honesty, fairness, respect and integrity are all guiding principles in our business dealings. These values apply wherever we do business around the world, in conjunction with local laws and regulations.  We also abide by these values in our workplace. We are committed to promoting a workplace that respects diversity and is safe, drug-free, and harassment-free.

Laws
We are committed to respect the laws that were made to protect the interests of the people in our local communities. We also adhere to international laws that concern our business activities. We expect our suppliers to do the same.

Health & Safety Policy
Around thirty percent of our employees work in a production environment, so our standards of health & safety are based on this premise. We have a clearly defined Health & Safety Policy to provide a safe and healthy working environment for our employees. We expect our suppliers to comply with the Health & Safety laws which apply to their country sites.

Human Rights, Forced Labour & Child Labour
Human Rights and adherence with human rights laws are the backbone of our society and our human resource policy was developed with this in mind. We have a clearly defined equal opportunity employment and clearly defined policies against harassment. Of our suppliers we expect that they act in accordance with human rights laws and standards. We expect our suppliers to refrain from the use of Child Labour to produce ingredients, as stipulated in national and local laws.

Impact on our environment
In our aim to leave as small as possible environmental footprint as possible, we use energy wisely and have adopted a minimal waste policy. We comply with all applicable laws and regulations to improve impact on the environment and encourage our local offices and production plants to adopt a Reduce, Re-use & Recycle policy.

Barentz International, an international leader in the distribution of high-quality ingredients, today announced a strategic partnership with Jubilant Life Sciences, an integrated global pharmaceutical and life sciences company. The two companies have signed a commercial agreement to work together within the food & nutrition market in India and its neighbouring countries. The collaboration aims at delivering solutions in food nutrition and fortification.

After several years of successful operation on the Vietnamese market Barentz International announces the establishment of an office in Ho Chi Minh City. The activities of Barentz Vietnam will focus on nutrition and quality enhancement within the Vietnamese food industry, where the nutritional premixes and functional blends from the company's production facility Vitablend in Singapore will have a prominent role.

Hoofddorp, The Netherlands, March 01, 2017 – Barentz International has established a Joint Venture with Vita Co., Ltd., a well-recognized ingredients distributor in Thailand, to further strengthen its activities within the Food Ingredients segment in Southeast Asia. Vita's profound knowledge of the Thai market and its well-established customer network will be an asset for Barentz, while Vita's product portfolio will be greatly widened with Barentz' product range and production facilities in the region.
